(положил начало развитию программы "Социальная защита", однако сам закон был гораздо шире, чем то, что сейчас в США принято называть "Социальная защита": закон также включал в себя основы первой программы помощи безработным, программы финансовой помощи штатам для реализации их собственных программ медицинского обеспечения и поддержки малоимущих и др.; собственно социальная защита по закону 1935 г. включала исключительно выплаты пенсионерам; поправки 1939 г. добавили выплаты супругам и малолетним детям уволенных работников и пенсии по утрате кормильца (в случае, если участвующий в программе работник умирал до выхода на пенсию); в 1956 г. были добавлены выплаты инвалидам)See:Англо-русский экономический словарь > Social Security Act 1935
